Bairrada
Area to the North of Lisbon stretching up the coast to the Bairrada. A very
productive region historically providing wines for the capital. The closeness
of the sea and cooling winds compare the area to Bordeaux. Confusing,
ancient DOC's now giving way to modern cooperatives often introducing
imported grape varieties.
