Douro
The Douro is one of the worlds great wine rivers- it becomes the Duero over
the Spanish border. Famous for 300 years of making Port it is now using its
terraced vineyards to produce some of Portugals' finest red wines. White
wines are made from grapes grown on the valley tops. It is a world Heritage
Site and was the worlds first DOC area.
